That's supposed to be the live long and prosper sign, but keyboard characters aren't conducive to doing it. Post Star Trek fandom stuff here.

One of the local stations had a Star Trek marathon last night, and the episode we watched was "Amok Time." That "Jim!" moment gets me every time. Farewell, old friend. You made this planet a better place just by being here. LLAP.

I found the thread of my people! Greetings fellow Trekkies!
(Also backlogging on this makes me have all sorts of Leonard Nimoy feels).
That "Jim!" moment in Amok Time gets me, too. But not nearly as badly as the ending for "Requiem for Methuselah". Between Rayna being able to love and being destroyed by it, Kirk's line about the 'old and lonely man' and the 'young and lonely man' being poor men in the show of rivalry for love, McCoy's phenomenal monologue to Spock about how he's sorry that Spock will never feel love, and Spock's gentle "Forget" as he erases all of Kirk's painful memories about Rayna so he will not be burdened by his loneliness, I turn into a weeping mess.

Of course we have a Trekkie thread! We are cultured humans!
Oh Leonard Nimoy.
I am sad all over again.
I haven't seen that episode though. :-(
