Some great Australian metal:
Sort of progressive death metal. Going by what's been posted in this thread previously, if you liked stuff like Noneuclid and Ne Obliviscaris you'd probably like Alchemist as well.

A random 'things you might like' recommendation that actually sort of came true. This is one of those rare female-fronted band that doesn't break my brain with autotune.
Quite similar to bands like Seventh Wonder or Triosphere.

Latest thing I'm listening to:
It's sort of shouty rock/metal, only better than that description makes it sound.

Some more new Ne Obliviscaris!
No cool lighting effects this time, sadly, but I guess that means at least I can listen to it in another tab without feeling like I'm missing anything.

Looks like the new album is going to be another awesome one!

Today I burnt my fingers multiple times trying to repair a broken set of headphones because the two metal albums I was most looking forward to in September have slightly too much of the autotune or whatever it is for me to be able to listen to them and I thought better headphones might help. No luck, unfortunately, so Satyricon and Myrkur go with Kamelot on the pile of things I wish I could like but can't. I guess I only like old music now. Well... old music, Ne Obliviscaris, and things that have Ville in them. And probably a few other things, but I'm not trusting them until they're actually released. Instant migraines are no fun. (PS - S-Tool Tolerance 0 on October 27th )

Migraine metal?
I haven't listened to new Satyricon and Myrkur, but that's disappointing.
Ville! Ville! Ville! Ville! Ville! *crazed headbanging fangirling*

More new Ne Obliviscaris!
Only two more weeks until we get to hear the full album.
(note: video has weird flashes/jumping effects)

This is a combination of funny and awesome and I hope Kai, Michael, and Andi stay friends long enough to make a whole album like it:

This is so soothing... I like soothing black metal.
I'm afraid I haven't been listening to any new metal. I've just been listening to the same few songs over and over again.
That said, here is my theme album for my character Dennor wal Redwyn...

Currently listening to: Forest Stream - The Crown of Winter (Bandcamp Link) This album is so beautiful. It's wintery, icy melodic blackened death/doom metal. It leans more melodic, but the heavy parts are so worth it. This could easily become the soundtrack for Starfall when I go to write some of the parts where they go North and have to brave the ice and snow.
