Today is a mish-mash of things I found on the internet. Anything that isn't a youtube video is a SoundCloud link. There are a couple more things, but I put the ones that weren't exactly metal on the other thread. So the new In Flames album is up for streaming on MetalInjection.net. I'm kinda disappointed...I couldn't get past 1.5 songs. It's not exactly pop-y...it's not at all death metal...I just didn't think it was very good. Primordial Sound by The Contortionist, which is the single off their upcoming album, Language. This song is just so beautiful! I love The Contortionist, but fair warning, they're more proggy than heavy. Ooooooh! Kamelot just released a new music video for 'Falling Like The Fahrenheit' a few days ago! The official announcement runs thus: New Kamelot album, eh? And I wonder when that new Seventh Wonder album is going to be released. Tommy sure is a busy, busy man.

Tommy Karevik doesn't sleep. He can't - there's not enough hours in the day. Right now he's simultaneously working on the new Seventh Wonder album, that live performance/DVD recording of Mercy Falls at ProgPowerUSA and probably starting to do stuff for the new Kamelot album.
Also, why is he wearing a scarf in that video? Is he trying to be the least metal-looking metal guy ever?

Now, something pretty random:
I guess since it has quite a narrow appeal, this belongs in the metal thread rather than the 'funny stuff' thread.

(Replied in another thread.) So I'm actually sitting on five or six things, and I don't know where to start, so I'm randomly pulling two for now. Darkspace I [Album] by Darkspace - Bandcamp - Ambient black metal that still manages to be heavy as a black hole. Imagine a vast journey through endless, lifeless space, broken only by static and garbled transmissions from Earth. Cosmic. Spacey. Kill the lights and put some earmuffs on because it's so cold your earholes will hit absolute zero. There are three more albums, Darkspace II, Darkspace III, and Darkspace III I, which I'm gonna check out next. Linking because this has a very strong Deus Ex Machina vibe to it. My Dark Symphony [Album] by 1833 AD - SoundClound - Melodic black metal band from India. This album is AWESOME.

The Return To Darkness [Album] by Demonic Resurrection - Melodic death metal from India. There are aspects of their sound that remind me of Dark Tranquillity, except with more of an Indian influence. Anyway, mix of clean vocals, growls, shrieks, and death metal riffs over alternating keyboards and cold atmospheric synth reminiscent of black metal. I really liked it. No moments of boredom. Pretty good death metal! For a sample of the sound, listen to The Unrelenting Surge of Violence:

Because I was thinking about things HammerFall for reasons today, it suddenly occurred to me that they're supposed to be releasing a new album some time towards the end of this year. So, google... and it turns out the answer was 'August 29th'. I guess I must have been distracted by something else around that time . Anyway, new music video with lots of reworked Hector art: ...and now I'm off to listen to the album (r)Evolution on Spotify.

Bandcamp - Myrkur [Album] by MyrkurExcellent debut album from one-woman black metal band Myrkur. It's like Leaves Eyes meets Darkthrone, and far more awesome than you'd think such a combination would be.

New single from Triosphere:
Apparently they also released their new album on November 7th. I'll probably listen to it when it arrives on Spotify, but... dunno. That song was sort of forgettable.
Maybe I've just gone off power metal.
