So this is possibly the official music video for HammerFall's 'hearts on fire':
I still can't quite believe it when I see reviews and stuff suggesting that the HammerFall guys take anything seriously.

INSOMNIUM! <3
Man, I really need to start spamming this thread again. I've kind of been sticking to my comfort zone lately, and not listening to anything new. Here's one new-ish thing, though. Deathless [Album] by Revocation: This album is brutally groovy. (Thrashdeath). \m/

Aaaaah, can't wait until they FINALLY release TMG! Those constant email updates in my inbox are taunting me. WHEN WILL THE ONE THAT ACTUALLY HAS THE RELEASE INFORMATION COME?
So, looking for something different, I finally started combing through my Spotify recommendations. Just listened to Fires of Life [Album] by Starkill.
Very nice! Melodic death x power metal. They sound like Amon Amarth x Dragonforce x Dethklok, and it's kinda cool.

*impatiently refreshes inbox waiting for update from Alkaloid on when their album will be released!*
Currently listening to Æthereal [Album] by Ginevra. I've wondered before if progressive doom metal is a thing. It's a thing. It's definitely a thing, and it's as excellent as I thought it would be. Doomy, groovy, and well worth a listen! Available on Bandcamp as a name your price download.

Random extreme metal that popped up in my Twitter feed. Still up in the air about whether I like it - was going to say not so much, but now I find myself wanting to listen to more.

New album from Enslaved that came out in the last few days. Extreme prog with folk influences? Some kind of extreme metal, anyway.

*hugs digital copy of The Malkuth Grimoire* I finally had time to listen to it this month! I'm probably breaking some unspoken rule here by not posting a link, but the album is not officially out yet, and the band requested that the advance digital copies not be shared. [1] In any case, my inner nerd can now die happy! \m/ There are a variety of styles on this album - the influences of each of the bands the members come from are definitely in evidence as you cycle through the songs, and it makes for some droolworthy prog-melodic/blackdeath goodness that's every bit as awesome as it promises to be! I'd say two thumbs up, but then I couldn't do this: (Also, seriously, in the space of just a few short months, Morean has been a primary artist on no less than three full-length albums, each by three different bands. I know he probably never sleeps, but now I'm beginning to suspect that the man is no less than superhuman...)
[1] What is better in this case: to go linkless, or post a link for link's sake of something else entirely, even if the whole rest of the post is about another album/artist? I don't want to downplay great stuff just because I happen to be super enthusiastic about something else. Am I taking this way too seriously?

This Is No Fairy Tale [Album] by Carach Angren...and they lived ghastly ever after! Another amazing bloodpounding melodic blackdeath horror metal release that's even more excellent than the last, and the last one was awesome! I would not say that the last album was messy in any way, but it definitely feels like their traditional sound has tightened up on this album. In addition, TINF focuses on developing one overall story arc both lyrically and atmospherically, and the result is delightfully dark and creepy. It would be a perfect soundtrack for a story. On top of that, they've incorporated a few extra melodic elements in between, which are a nice eerie touch. TLDR version: Haunting, grotesque, brutal, melodic. Definitely worth a listen! In other words, apparently, how many adjectives can Agent throw into a review without actually managing to say anything accurate? Thus my attempt to write a proper review bombs completely. Maybe I should just stick to writing 'it's very good.' Anyway, it's very good. XD

In a complete departure from what we've been posting recently, Michael Kiske and Amanda Somerville are releasing a new duet album.
I'd say bunny fuel, but it just makes me think of my SS-SFF-SS.
