First of all, did anyone start 'Just Write January' before going to bed on the 1st? I'm guessing no, because New Year.) As a general sort of thing, any 'midnight WriMo starters' among the Steve population? I find that I only tend to do it for NaNo/Camp NaNo - I think it's something to do with timezones and getting to log my first words before most of the rest of the world. Then I can pretend to be ahead for a while .

^______^ :-D
That was devious misdirection. To answer your question, NOPE. :-)
Heh, I don't do midnight starters at all. I feel so old saying this, but sometimes I just can't stay up that late to write on a weekday. I usually just crawl into bed at that time, read something or watch something, and pass out around 1AM. XD
That, or I write ONE word at midnight for NaNo in order to demonstrate that I am SO productive, haha.

Haha, I didn't even do it for Nano.
Having young kids I find if I stay up too late, then I get too tired the next day to do too much. Such as when my youngest gets sick and ends up crying all night. I become a zombie. Something not too conducive to writing.
Besides, sleep is wonderful!

I usually start at midnight for events, but like you said, it being the New Year and all... then after the ball dropped I just crawled into bed, logged into an mmo and laughed at all the people bragging about getting drunk
