Yeah, so this happened:
We spend a lot of time shoving ourselves into the darkness. Sometimes the darkness drags us in, and buries us of its own accord. For all that darkness is the absence of light, it's its presence that seems to have more effect. What am I waffling on about? Why, that Things happen and we can't control them, but either we feel guilty that we can't or worried that we never will be able to.
Sometimes, it just seems like the sky is going to fall no matter what we do. The Pit of Suck and the Chasm of Despair get a lot of attention on this site, but sometimes it's not the writing that went wrong, but everything else.
*Thunder rumbles, and rain lashes down*
Just in case, let's make sure we carry a flashlight, a shovel, an umbrella, and a towel. The Steve version of that is, let's remind ourselves why we even bother. Think of the good things, or at least the not-so-bad-I-might-be-able-to-work-with-that things. Use this thread however you want for that purpose. If you want to post every day about one good thing that happened to you, do so. If you just want to post once, you may do that as well. If you prefer a different approach and want to write one thing that you got done that day, that's also good. Up to you.
THEY may try to take the sky, but let's stand on solid ground.
So, here's your place to tell me...why isn't the sky falling?
For myself, I'm absolutely swamped at work. I always am -- never a moment when there aren't ten thousand things to do -- but suddenly I have everything else and a half to do, and deadlines are looming. I've never yet managed to finish a draft in five years. I have a terrible feeling I'm going to fail again. I am sick and tired of feeling tired all the time and not being able to breathe.
Okay, that's the crappy stuff out. The good stuff?
I. Got. A. Giant. Book. This. Weekend. Giant.
A blog post will be coming about that soon.
Oh, that's right. I'm resurrecting my blog. That's something, right?

I have a feeling I'm doing this wrong.

No longer feeling like the sky is falling,
Sky isn't falling here either! *knock on wood*
