At this moment, the NaNo site is down for the annual wipe and thousands eagerly await its return. Soon we will be able to upload our 2015 novels.
Is anyone else many refreshing the page waiting for it to come up?
Also, the obligatory questions: Who is doing NaNo this year? How ready are we?
I'm not ready, but I hope I will be in a month. My goal is to get 1/3 to 1/4 of the way through this story by November.

I really don't know. Experience and data tell me 50k is unlikely, but... I mean, not do NaNo? It just feels wrong.
So, expressing my uncertainty through a rewrite of 'the sounds of typing', my bad rewrite of a Simon and Garfunkel song:
Hello NaNo my old friend It's time to talk to you again Because a reset softly creeping Updated you while I was sleeping But now questions that were planted in my brain Still remain Echoing the sounds of typing
My restless dreams I'd type alone Through endless nights with coffee cups 'neath the halo of my desk lamp And now I wonder if the challenge fits 'cause I'm not sure if I can write that much And can I fight my demons all the way to 50k And bring the sounds of typing?
But by the forum's light I saw A thousand writers, maybe more Some were talking while thinking Others drinking coffee winking Writers writing words that bring us all together And they all loved To hear the sounds of typing
"Hi," said I, "are you my friends? Writers who are crazy too! Write your words that you might win it Share my goal that I might reach you," And our words like glowing muse-dust fall And echo In the sounds of typing
And the writers type and type All heading for that 50k And the words build up their magic And a message now is forming And the sign says "Write more words! Every sentence is something you didn't have When you started writing!" Now it whispers in the sounds of typing...

Gold star.
I had some doubts about doing NaNo this time, since the pace always kills me and leaves me with a far messier butt of a draft than I would otherwise have.
I haven't lost one yet though, and I would never forgive myself for not doing it.

No Nano for me. November does not equal a 50k month for me. October, could. January has. June, July yeah. But with school, November does not work for me. :-( I always want to, and then cannot keep up.

I have never won a NaNo and I think that is what keeps me coming back I'll be trying again, already planning.

NaNo's in the air Every writer comes around NaNo's in the air To our novels we are bound
And I don't know if we're being crazy Don't know if we can win But it's something that we all believe in And oh yeah, soon it's going to begin...

I really, really want to do Nano. Want to start my sequel - which I haven't figured out too much of. But, I'm still revising this novel Bullet Proof, and I'm very reluctant to stop to write a fresh manuscript.

I'm supposed to be writing the beginning of my novel this month, and I have done nothing. Work has been draining. At this rate, not even the push of NaNo will get me to The End.

(sneaky move of thread because I've finally worked out why I couldn't find it )So, apparently there's 10 days to go until NaNo. Or I suppose that's 11 for everyone else? Anyway, NaNo in the air and all that. Plans all sorted out? Quietly panicking? Need help? My current plan: I'm thinking maybe I'll set some kind of 'write bits and pieces across a whole bunch of projects' goal. I don't know if it's going to be the full 50k, but I definitely want to make some kind of effort to be part of the event. Need to think of a suitably ridiculous 'novel' for my profile page now, I guess.
