Welcome gunuph! It's never a waste of time getting words down. Getting past the hurdles, motivation, inspiration, or otherwise, is what we're here for, so glad to have you with us! PPTs are Personal Progress Threads. As Siana said, they're like a journal, or discussion thread. You can post how you're doing throughout the month, put up excerpts if you wish, and read/comment on others' threads to carry on a conversation. Plot bunnies are story ideas, jokingly called so in the NaNoverse because they multiply like rabbits. XD Feel free to ask if you have questions about how any of this works!

Hiii. Some of you may know me from the JanNo forums, and I'm sorry it took so long to join up here. I kind of have an excuse, but it's not really an excuse other than I suck at not being overwhelmed by the whirlwind of my life.
Anyway, um, I'm just going to put this out there cause 1) I'm blunt as heck; and 2) it's going to keep coming up with every person who knew me before so I might as well get it out of the way. I used to be talvikki on the JanNo forum. I'm trying to move away from that username - with some reluctance and sadness, as I've used it almost everywhere for about 15 years now - because it's no longer accurate for me. Talvikki is a girl's name in Finnish. And last summer, I realized that I'm not a girl (or woman), and a lot of gender angst later, I now identify as a trans man (or sometimes just a man) and actually, about 4 weeks ago I started hormone therapy to bring my appearance more in line with my identity. So yeah....that happened, and that was part of the reason I wasn't on forums very much the past few months, cause it took me a lot of time and emotional energy to sort through that stuff.
In things that may be more interesting, I write epic fantasy, often with queer characters and romance; I listen to ridiculous amounts of metal music; I work in an office, a library, as a freelance translator, and as an (unpaid) blogger on music and queer and poly stuff and whatever else comes to mind; and I like to bake muffins in the middle of the night. My current thing that I'm supposed to be working on, but have barely touched since NaNoWriMo, is a novel, purportedly YA but with possibly too much swearing and gory violence so far, about two transgendered teenagers who get stuck in what they think is an RPG, but is actually an alternate world where they have to fight dragons and save the universe and stuff. Joining Steve is the my first step in trying to get back into fiction writing mode after months off >.<

Thanks You guys can call me Tal for short, or Lauri, which is my real name. TalviLinna is my pen name, but no one actually calls me that. Tal, meanwhile, is a nickname I got on a forum that I have very fond memories of

Heyyy! What do you go by here - will it be weird if I call you Bobo? Quiet is ok..gives me a chance to catch up on ALL THE THREADS. Because I have this obsessive need to read everything before replying. I did a really strange and uncomfortable thing (for me) by replying to Siana's PPT without reading the whole thing O.o

Heyyy! What do you go by here - will it be weird if I call you Bobo? Nah, Bobo is fine. I go by many names. Bobo The. Bard, The Anonymous Entity, Agent Double Oh Zero, and on one occasion, Orplejoos McHammyson. :-)

Lol. So many to choose from But I'll probably just stick with Bobo, cause I'm lazy and it's only four letters.

Only two of which are unique. XD Hmmmm...I just realized that since I'm a dvorak today, I can type that with one hand. The name Bobo is dumb but efficient just like me. :-D

I had to google "dvorak," and now I know something new. At least, I assume you're referring to a dvorak keyboard. If you think you're the composer, well..
Funny enough, the ergonomics of keyboard layouts are pretty irrelevant to me personally, because I actually only type with two fingers. And can hit 60 wpm pretty easily, mostly without looking at the keyboard even. I dunno how I missed learning touch typing all these years. Somehow, no one ever made me do it, and I got really good at typing with my two pointer fingers instead.
It just occurred to me, is "Bobo the Bard" a reference to monkeys typing the works of Shakespeare? XD

Hello everyone! Just announcing my presence. I'm Nini, and I'm working on a psychological thriller novel that I started during April Camp NaNoWriMo. I don't really have anything else to say

Hi Nini, and welcome to Steve! If you have any questions about how things work around here, please don't hesitate to ask either myself or Siana Blackwood, the admins. TalviLinnaNo, but I wish it was. I used to use the word 'bobo' for anything I thought was stupid, an expression I picked up from my 10th grade math teacher. I guess the modern generation's word is 'derp' and 'derpy'. So no monkeys, but it is in general supposed to refer to idiots writing masterpieces. :-)
