List of Other Timed Challenges
This is a list of other wrimo-like events that take place throughout the year. We do update it as and when things change, as they tend to do. Please note, these are external challenges that are NOT affiliated with Steve in any way.
Year Long
WriYe - Writing year. Write several novels in a year, often involving setting your own goals.
WriYe Forum
6 Months, 6 Novels. Write a novel every other month, starting in January.
The 365 Project. Take a photo every day for a year.
The Mango Grove Similar to NaNoMangO, but year long. Draw comic art throughout the year.
Are you crazy enough to do Nano, and all (or most, or some) of the Wrimos based off of Nano? Then come on over to Crazy Club where we have goals of starting, finishing, and editing novels, and commitment to wrimos! We're crazy, and we have crazy fun! Come on over and join us!

Year Round
48 Hour Film Project. Make a film in 48 hours. The 48 Hour Film Project team tours different cities year round. There is a fee to enter officially.
NaNoCoMo - National Novel Continuing Month. Continue a novel you've started.
Book in a Week. Participants write a book during the first full week of each month.
National Novel Writing Day. Write a novel in a day. Self-organized, but people have done it.
NaBloPoMo - National Blog Posting Month. Post in your blog every day for a month. Originally in November, but now you can participate year round.
Album-a-Day. Write, perform, and record a musical album in a single day.
Script Race. Write a script in a month. This happens every month.
GothNoWriYe. Gothic Novel Writing Year. Write a gothic novel in a month. WIPs allowed. Set your own goals. This event takes place throughout the year.

January
JanNoWriMo - January Novel Writing Month takes place in January, and runs all month. You can set your own word count, and either work on something new, or continue working on a WiP.
HistNoWriMo - Historical Novel Writing Month. Write a historical novel in January, in any genre. You can set your own word count, and either work on something new, or continue working on a WiP (as far as we know).
If there are others in January, let us know, and we'll add it.
February
FAWM - Feburary Album Writing Month. Write 14 songs in February.
WoPoWriMo - World Poetry Writing Month. Write a poem every day in February

March
NaNoEdMo - National Novel Editing Month takes place during the month of March. The goal is to do 50 hours of editing on your novel.
MarNoWriMo.webs.com - March Novel Writing Month. 50,000 word goal to write in March. I don't know if it has to be a new novel, or if you can continue one you've already started. Thank you twilastarxwildfire for the link.
MarNoRewriMo - March Novel Rewriting Month. This is a new board, and from what I've seen, it's one you might want to seriously consider checking out.

April
April Fools' Web Site and April Fools' Forum - April Fool's Noveling takes place during the month of April. The goal is to write between 500 and 200,000 words.
RePoWriMo - Refrigerator Poetry Writing Month. Write a poem using refrigerator magnets every day in April.
Camp NaNoWriMo - Official OLL writing challenge. Huddle around a campfire with other wrimos, and choose your own goal of at least 10,000 words. Official goal is to write the first draft of a novel, but Camp Rebels are accepted and encouraged. 2014 events occur in April and July.

May
MayNoWriMo - May Novel Writing Month. It doesn't need to be a new story, and it can be any word count. Looks like this is inactive.
NEPMo - National Epic Poetry Month - Write a 5,000 line epic poem in May.
Noveldom and Beyond (No&Be) - Reading challenge - Read 10,000 pages. 2012 event lasts from May 1st to August 1st. Default goal is 10,000 pages, but you can change that. You can use books that you've already started reading, but you can only count the pages you've read between May 1st and August 1st.

June
SoCNoC - Southern Cross Novel Challenge. Write 50,000 words in June. A half-SoCNoC is also available.
NaNoMangO. Participants draw thirty pages of sequential art. The June challenge is for those who want the extra challenge or can't participate in November.
WriDaNoJu - Write a Damn Novel in June. Write a 50,000-word novel in June.
SoFoBoMo - Solo Photo Book Month. Take at least 35 photos and create a photo book in a "fuzzy month". SoFoBoMo 2010 goes into July, depending on when you begin.

The 50/90 Challenge. Write fifty songs in 90 days. In 2010 this was between 4 July and 1 October.

3 Day Novel Contest - Write a novel in three days. Conducted on Labor Day weekend. There is a fee to enter officially and have a chance for publication because of the contest.
SeptNoWriMo - Set your own writing or editing goal for the month of September.

October
24 Hour Comics Day Create 24 consecutive comic book pages in 24 hours. 24 Hour Comics Day will take place on October 2, 2010.
GothNoWriMo - Gothic Novel Writing Month. Write a novel of the Gothic literature genre in October. Participants set their own word count goal.

November
NaNoWriMo is run by the Office of Letters and Light. National Novel Writing Month is the original of its type. In the month of November, you write a 50,000 word novel. It has to be a new project and not a WiP.
NaPlWriMo - National Play-Writing Month. Write a play of at least 75 pages in November.
NaSoAlMo - National Solo Album Month. Write, play, and record an album of at least 29:09, though participants can set their own goals.
The original NaNoMangO challenge. I don't know what this one is, so I can't say much more than the site where I got the link.
NaNoDrawMo - Draw 50 pieces in a month.

December
NaNoFiMo - National Novel Finishing Month. Write at least 30,000 words and finish a novel in progress in December.
International Plot Writing Month. Participants write a plot in December.

DecNaWriMo AKA December National Writing Month. You can choose your own word goal and write in December. Started last year (2010), currently rebooting the site and making it pretty for 2011, but we need more people to take part (we only had 7 last year).
