So, I had this idea:
Also something about some kind of tie-in with National Short Story Writing Month, which I think is in May.
My current (probably not very well thought out) idea is that we look at stories and figure out how the authors solved problems we face in our own work. Example: particularly with short stories, I'd like to learn a lot more about pacing and how to fit 'adventure' ideas into the length of a short story. Also stuff about details of setting and world.
Or we could just go on a big short story hunt and share the ones we think are awesome. That probably works too.
Thoughts?

I really like this idea. Since we read a bunch of short stories as guidelines anyway, it would be good to share them and discuss them.
Maybe we could even do it as a sort of creative writing exercise - someone shares a story, we discuss and dissect it, and then we all try to write our own short story to work on that element? Or maybe we could do several of those, and then after a while we could have an ultimate short story share showdown, where we could sort of do an original short story that incorporates everything we "learned."
