Hi, everyone. Welcome to a new month and a new set of challenges!
Okay, a couple of new challenges and a lot of continuing ones. Close enough, right.
New stuff starting in September:
SeptNoWriMo - a sort of mini-NaNoWriMo where you choose your own wordcount goal and try to reach it in 30 days.
An art challenge (sign up thread and more details coming soon) - create an awesome picture of something related to your story.
Continuing in September:
The 'I have a plan! Attack!' Challenge (complete a draft in five months) enters its second month. Planners should be hard at work planning, while pantsers... already writing? Working on other things until later in the year?
The Consistency Game is still going. It turns out writing 100 words a day is harder than it sounds, though, so the rules are open for modification if anyone has a better idea.
Weekly writing/planning prompts will continue - five prompts/exercises posted each Monday. Members can request topics to be covered, suggest prompts from elsewhere on the internet or even volunteer to provide the week's exercise.
SSSS: Nibbles continues - write a story 50-250 words at a time. You can also read and discuss the stories here: the SSSS: Nibbles board.
The original SSSS (write a story in weekly installments) is also still open by request to the admins. You can also read and comment on the incomplete (and one complete) stories in that section. Warning: requests for next episodes may result in panic and flailing.
(Note: the 'SSSS' and 'SSSS': Nibbles boards (and the entire Show Your Work board) are private/restricted access. You must be a member and have at least 10 posts to read the stories, and have 25 posts to start one of your own.)
Questions? Comments? Want to request a different challenge because you don't see anything you like, already have plans or want to revive something from a previous month? Post in this thread and we'll get back to you as quickly as we can.
