I guess it's that time again. Another month is coming and we probably should come up with some kind of plan for what we're going to do.
Things to think about:
* NaNoWriMo preparation * Activities to keep the quieter/slower writers going * Next steps in our self-evaluation/plan of attack process
In a purely random sort of way, I'm wondering about making it something like 'Cupcake October', where the month-long challenge is to find weird and wonderful cupcakes to post. We'd probably incidentally also post bits and pieces of progress, but really it would be all about the cupcakes.
Doesn't have to be cupcakes. Could be fruit and veg, animals, celebrities... whatever.

Cupcakes are cool. I will mostly be focusing on nano prep. I know my story but still don't feel ready. Hehe

Cupcake October sounds awesome.
I don't feel ready either. I have so much going on right now that I haven't even had much time to think, nor will I have until mid October at the earliest, if even that.
I have no idea what I'm doing for NaNo.

October challenge idea: every day, post a) a picture of a cupcake, and b) a short note about your NaNo prep. Mix and match parts a and b depending on your snacking preferences and what you're working on. E.g. kittens and homework, celebrities and editing...
Second October challenge idea: post pre-NaNo or general story planning hints and tips from around the web. Maybe include a small 'actionable task' related to it if what you're posting doesn't come with one.
What is it about NaNoWriMo, anyway? Every year it's 'nope, not this time' and yet as November gets closer we start to think maybe it's possible after all.

I'm in no fit state of mind to be parsing any of this, but I see cupcakes, so I'm down for the cupcake thing.
I'm down for motivational subliminal messages hidden in rainbow cupcakes.
Yeah, I shouldn't be awake. I just worked almost 24 hours straight and should get a couple of hours of sleep before I have to log on again.
Yeah, you'd think we'd have learnt our lesson. This year I was absolutely resolved on NOT doing NaNo, in contrast to other years when I just wavered a bit but knew I'd bite. Then suddenly the end of September rolled around, and it was like I could SMELL the NaNo refresh!
Maybe it's something about fall. The air feels crisp now. Getting to be NaNo time...

I think nano is a brilliant idea. It creates So much community and motivation that no one wants to be left out.

I will not be doing NaNo this year. I might try FlashNaNo. I am not successful with NaNo so I am choosing to try something else. Maybe I can feel more successful this November.
