I don't know of any major events in May, so I'm assuming this is going to be some kind of Steve challenge month. So, the usual questions to help us get started: 1. How did your April go? 2. Do you have any plans for May? Starting fresh/continuing a project, planning/writing/editing... 3. Suggestions for challenges, a theme, a random activity etc. Also, don't forget about StWG submissions. Here's the May schedule for the diary: MayWeekend of 5/6 - Critique/feedback due Weekend of 5/13 - laloca, Siana Blackwood, Dec Weekend of 5/20 - Critique/feedback due Weekend of 5/27 - Jᴀy V. Aꜱᴛᴇʀ 💀🐍, Danielle Wayland, mymuseisaspry, Dec

1. Terrible, but that was beyond my control. I've been very sick. 2. Just trying to get my life together again. My writing goal is just to write something, anything, so I get back into the way of doing things I like, so I can get better. Light goal. Maybe I'll write a flash. 3. Plot Bunnies?
I'm sorry, my brain is so medicated fried. I'll come back to this.

1. How did your April go?
So-so. Writing got done, but not nearly as much as I wanted to get done. Reading got done, but not nearly as much as I wanted to get done. That's... about it, in a nutshell.
2. Do you have any plans for May? Starting fresh/continuing a project, planning/writing/editing...
Continuing to write Chimera and Manticore, starting up Timekeeper again (gonna have to find that combined timeline...), actually *planning* for the next Camp, as hard as that's going to be, reading up on Japanese culture/language/mythology, reading up on a slew of other topics for Manticore... the list goes ever on and on, though I'm probably going to do my best only with the first three or so.
3. Suggestions for challenges, a theme, a random activity etc.
Uh...
Okay! Random thought for a theme -- May Flowers. Whether it be flower languages, or just talk/symbolism around flowers in general, you have to do something with flowers. I've already got a memory that seems interestingly fitting, though it's going to have to come later in the story.

1. April went well. I completed my editorial map and started on the next steps for revising my manuscript. I started writing morning pages again and I read 3 books.
2. Read another three books, continue morning pages and editing.
3. Not sure about challenges right now. I'll think about it...

My answers: 1. April went better than I expected. I'm feeling a lot better about writing now that I'm not trying to write on the computer. 2. This month I'm going to continue my April draft, and also I have to write a 1000-word short for school. Also it's my birthday month and I'm on a 'no processed sugar' diet, so I'll probably post a bunch of pictures of cakes and desserts I wouldn't even consider eating. 3... Okay! Random thought for a theme -- May Flowers. Whether it be flower languages, or just talk/symbolism around flowers in general, you have to do something with flowers. I've already got a memory that seems interestingly fitting, though it's going to have to come later in the story. I like this! So the challenge would be to somehow incorporate flowers into whatever you're doing in May. As well as writing-related (include flowers in a story, write about flowers, use flowers as prompts...) you could do some art, collect images, put flowers in vases in your house and then photograph them, photograph flowers in your neighbourhood, write on printed paper that has a flower design... I don't even know. Possibilities are enormous. Maybe we need a thread of creative ways to do something to do with flowers.
