Hello twistedriver / Frida, and welcome to Steve! You have come to the right place. We do challenges all year, for those off months and for those who prefer non crazy word counts. We have the I Have a Plan - Attack! Challenge going on, with the goal of finishing a draft by the end of the year. We also have a story share where you can do serial stories of any size (consistency goals), but for that you have to make 10 posts to read and 25 to participate. Check out the challenges board for more! You can sign up for any goals you want over there. Also, be sure to start up aPPT to report on your progress and talk about anything. Be sure to check out the Get Started page (see menu) to see how Steve works overall. If you have any questions, or aren't sure what to do, feel free to contact the admins, myself or Siana Blackwood. Alternatively, you can post general problems with what you're working on I. your thread, and any members will be happy to help throw ideas around. :-)

Hi everyone. I'm back. Sorta. Life got insane and I think it may have stabilized enough that I can be a real person again. If not I may just kill myself :/ So tired of all the drama! But I'm getting better at saying "no" (and even better at saying "hell no!!!!") when things will overwhelm me. Can't make grandparents not die or anything, RIP Grandpa, but I can prioritize a bit more rationally. And writing is one of my priorities. So are my writing friends, so I'm horribly sorry I've dropped away for so long!!

Hi butterflywings , welcome back. I'm sorry about your loss. I certainly bounce around between being here and active and disappearing for months on end because of school, but we're glad to have you and glad that you're getting better at setting boundaries and saying no to overwhelm.

Hi! My name's Halie (hay-lee) and I'm super new to Steve. I've been wanting to join in for ages but I'm not very tech savvy and so have had a little trouble. I'm twenty-one and I love writing action/adventure/romance/fantasy. In my free time I love trying new things, reading, hiking, camping, traveling, crocheting, cooking things I oughtn't eat, discovering new music, going to the gym and watching anything cool from Dr. Who and Sherlock to the Office and Bones. I sometimes have trouble finishing what I start but writing is my true love, and finally finishing a novel would be a really fantastic notch in my bucket list.

Welcome to Steve, Halie Morgan. So I have to ask the obvious question: are you really a llama?

That would be pretty special, wouldn't it? Admittedly I may have exaggerated my llama-ness. I am but a lowly human who happens to be a terrible chooser of usernames. But at least I didn't claim to be an alpaca... That would have been embarrassing.

Welcome to Steve Halie Morgan! You've done to the right place! Be sure to check out the Get Started if you haven't already to see how the site works, and the admins will be available to answer any questions you may have. We've got a NaNo type challenge going on if you want that extra kick or if you're not doing NaNo but want a similar but easier challenge. Otherwise, we'll all hanging around for support anyway! Good luck!

Hello everyone! I`m Sam, and as you may guess I`m new here. To tell the truth, I think I may have registered in winter, but then I lost access to the email I used, and I didn`t introduce myself or post anything then, anyway. I must warn everyone that English is my third language, so I hope I don`t make any glaring errors. Let`s see, where do I start introducing myself... Currently I live in Russia, am planning to move to Ukraine to live with my relatives in the nearest future. My primary occupation is working as a freelance technical writer/copywriter, but I also sometimes make jewelry for sale. I love reading, cooking, listening to all kinds of music, going for long walks, and playing various RPG games, both PC/Console ones and those of pen-and-paper variety. I also watch quite a lot of TV shows, my favorite ones include Glee, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Merlin, Dollhouse, and Dark Angel. Also, I obviously love writing. My favorite genre is fantasy, both urban and epic. I like my stories to have a diverse cast of characters and a bit of romance going on. Also, I usually try to push my characters into situations where they would be forced to make difficult moral decisions, reevaluate lots of things, etc. I think they may sometimes hate me for that. Last November was my first time participating in NaNoWriMo. I admit that I failed it after about 13,000 words, mostly because of certain health issues, but it was great fun while it lasted. I discovered that I write best when there is a kind of a team spirit, an understanding that there are people doing the same thing write now, and I can share my progress (or lack of it) with them occasionally. Also, a set challenge and a deadline is really useful for me. And I don`t want to limit myself to only commiting to such challenges in November, so... Here I am.

Welcome waywardsam! You're in the right place! This month is story of a patchwork of activity. We've got some people doing Camp NaNo, some people editing, some juggling multiple WIPs of varying length and stages of completion. We've got done role plays going on, and we have a short story exercise going on until April 30th - submit a short story (any draft) for commentary, and comment on other members' stories as well. As ever, you can always set your own goal and report in your progress, knowing we're all in the same boat. Participation isn't mandatory for anything and deadlines are written in butter, so feel free to jump in on anything that catches your interest! Also, if there is any activity you'd like to see here which doesn't exist, feel free to request it. If you have any questions about anything, feel free to ask the admins, myself and Siana Blackwood, and we'd be happy to help. Do you know what you're going to work I. this month?
